Landtech Opens Grand Junction Branch by Acquiring Deep Creek Landscapes

What happened

Landtech Contractors, a commercial landscape company based in Aurora, Colorado, has acquired Deep Creek Landscapes of Grand Junction and made it Landtech's newest branch. Landtech announced the purchase on April 9, 2026, and did not disclose financial terms.

The seller

Deep Creek has been in the landscaping business in Grand Junction for more than 30 years. It specializes in irrigation and commercial landscaping, with work that runs from sod and irrigation installation to full landscape renovations, plus maintenance agreements, hydroseeding, retaining walls, and snow plowing, salting, and sanding. Its clients have included commercial, institutional, industrial, and municipal properties as well as homeowners. The company says its specialty is mixing native and non-native plants to suit the region's ecology, and that it has been recognized 10 times for award-winning landscapes.

The announcement did not name Deep Creek's owners or say what role they will have with Landtech.

The buyer

Larry Overley founded Landtech in 1987 in Pitkin County, on the Western Slope. Two years later the company moved to the Front Range and opened an office in Aurora. It added a Colorado Springs branch in 1996 and a northern branch in Longmont in 1999, which moved to Loveland in 2017. Before this deal it ran three locations serving the Front Range from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins, offering commercial landscape construction, maintenance, irrigation, renovation, and snow management. Its projects include McGregor Square in Denver, UC Health Memorial Hospital, and the Central 70 Cover Park.

Kevin Overley, Larry's younger brother, started at Landtech part-time while in college in Denver and is now its president. "Bringing on Deep Creek as the newest branch of Landtech Contractors will enable us to grow our partnership with our current customers and will introduce our service and efficiency into the western slope market," he said. "We are excited to grow with this great group of employees and new customers."

Saturn Five invested in Landtech in January 2022 and describes it as one of the largest commercial landscape contractors in Colorado. The investor's portfolio also includes electrical, HVAC, excavation, and concrete contractors in Colorado. In 2018, Larry Overley described Landtech's approach this way: "Lateral growth is our model. We wanted to spread out, not stay concentrated in the same region."

What this means for Western Slope landscaping owners

Grand Junction is Landtech's first new location in more than 25 years, and it returns the company to the Western Slope, where it started. Its earlier branches were opened; this one came with an established company and its employees, four years after Saturn Five invested. When Overley explained the deal, he named the customers Landtech already serves before the new ones Deep Creek brings.
