Riverview Landscapes Acquires Fresh Cut Lawn Care in Its 25th Deal

What happened

Riverview Landscapes has acquired Fresh Cut Lawn Care, a commercial and residential landscaping and snow management company headquartered in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Riverview announced the deal on June 30, 2026, as its 25th acquisition since its founding in 2022. The Egg Harbor Township location becomes Riverview's new Atlantic County branch, part of its Southern New Jersey region. The announcement did not include a price or other financial terms.

The seller

John and Shawn Ferrie founded Fresh Cut in 1983. The company works mainly for commercial customers across Southern New Jersey, with landscape maintenance, enhancements, installation and snow management, plus a holiday lighting line. Its customers include the Federal Aviation Administration, which holds a contract with Fresh Cut for grounds maintenance and mowing at an FAA site in Atlantic City running through October 2026, and which hired the company in March 2026 to clear trees and brush around a helipad used for unmanned aircraft operations.

Following the transaction, the Ferries will retire from the landscaping industry. "After more than 40 years in the landscaping industry, Shawn and I felt it was important to find a partner who would take care of our customers and employees the same way we always have," John Ferrie said.

The new Atlantic County branch will be led by Brian Cramer, who joined Fresh Cut in 1999 at the age of 18. Riverview credits him with an integral role in the company's growth.

The buyer

At the time of the announcement, Riverview provided landscaping and snow services to thousands of customers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, with more than 700 employees. It is backed by management and Talus Holdings. It had reported 14 acquisitions in March 2025, which makes Fresh Cut its 11th in roughly 16 months, and it announced two more in July 2026, bringing its count to 27.

"The company has built an impressive reputation over more than four decades, with a strong commercial customer base and deep roots in Atlantic County," said Michael Waterman, Riverview's chief executive. "This acquisition expands our presence in Southern New Jersey and provides a strong platform for future growth in the region."

Riverview's run through South Jersey

Fresh Cut follows a line of New Jersey deals. In March 2025, Riverview bought three New Jersey companies at once and said all three would continue to be managed by their existing day-to-day management teams. It added Nature Scape in Barrington in June 2025, describing that deal as strengthening its growing presence in South Jersey, and Young's Landscape Management in Lumberton in October 2025.
