Riverview Acquires Landscape, Inc., Combining It With Its Albany Branch

What happened

Riverview Landscapes acquired Landscape, Inc., a commercial and residential landscaping and snow management company headquartered in Albany, New York, in a deal announced on June 10, 2026. Landscape, Inc. is being combined with Riverview's Albany branch, and its facility in Latham becomes an additional service location supporting Riverview's operations in Corinth. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The seller

Pete Rossi founded Landscape, Inc. in 1989. The company serves a predominantly commercial client base with landscape maintenance, enhancements, installation and snow management. Liam Burrell, Riverview's CFO, credited it with "long-standing client relationships and a highly efficient operating model."

Pete Rossi is retiring from the landscaping business. His son, Pete L. Rossi, who has served as operations manager, is staying with Riverview to support Landscape, Inc.'s customers as part of the Albany team. "We are proud of the business we've built over the past several decades and are confident Riverview is the right partner for the future," the elder Rossi said. The Landscape, Inc. name has since been replaced by Riverview Landscapes', with former customers told they keep "the same great team, now backed by the resources of a regional company."

The buyer

Riverview Landscapes was founded in 2022 and is owned by management and Talus Holdings. It serves thousands of landscaping and snow customers across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts with more than 700 employees, organized into a New York region and Northern New Jersey, Southern New Jersey and New England regions.

Albany was the first market Riverview entered, chief executive Michael Waterman said in February, when Riverview bought Cleveland Brothers Landscaping, a Corinth company founded in 1988 by Terry and Kevin Cleveland that serves greater Saratoga Springs. That deal set up the move of Riverview's Albany branch office from Selkirk to Cleveland Brothers' larger Corinth facility. Burrell said Landscape, Inc. "enhances our existing Albany platform and allows us to further strengthen our service capabilities and density in the region."

How Riverview is filling in its New York branches

Riverview had completed 24 acquisitions since 2022 as of the Landscape, Inc. announcement, then announced its 25th on June 30, its 26th on July 14 and its 27th on July 21. That last deal, B&B Landscaping & Gardening in Cortlandt Manor, is a near match for this one. B&B was also founded in 1989, also does landscape maintenance, enhancements and snow management, and its facility is also becoming an additional office for an existing Riverview branch, in that case Greater Westchester County. What this means for Capital Region landscaping owners

Riverview has now bought two Albany-area operators founded in 1988 and 1989 within four months and put both teams into a single Albany branch. Burrell's own word for what the second deal adds is density. For a Capital Region owner, that means the buyer already working this market takes on the crews, the commercial customer base and a usable facility, and in this case not the seller's name. The questions worth settling with a buyer structured that way come before a letter of intent, not at closing: which of your people keep their roles, and what your facility becomes once it reports to another branch.
