Perm-O-Green, a Texas lawn care and pest control company, has joined Legacy Lawns, a national lawn care platform headquartered in Gainesville, Georgia, as one of its five founding partner brands. Lawn & Landscape first reported the launch on January 30, 2026, and Legacy Lawns' announcement named King Green, Purple Care, Georgia Lawngrowers, Coastal Turf and Perm-O-Green as its first strategic partnerships. The announcement did not disclose financial terms.
Perm-O-Green has served Texas lawns since 1976. It is based in Wichita Falls and also serves Fort Worth, Tyler, Lubbock and Longview. The work runs on two lines: lawn programs built around fertilization, weed control, aeration, and tree and shrub care, and a pest control line aimed at fire ants, fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. It serves both residential and commercial properties.
Legacy Lawns grew out of King Green, a family-owned Gainesville lawn care company that Charlie King founded in 1987 and whose leadership passed to his daughter, Jennifer Jorge, in 2024. Jorge is Legacy Lawns' co-founder and CEO. Private equity firm Plexus Capital invested in Legacy Lawns in 2025, and the National Association of Landscape Professionals reported that Plexus has been key in providing the platform capital, strategic support and access to resources.
The other founding brands are Georgia Lawngrowers in Suwanee, Georgia, Coastal Turf in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Purple Care in Fort Worth. Purple Care's founder, Justin Berg, joined Legacy Lawns as vice president of its Southwest region. Across the five brands, the platform counts more than 200 team members.
"We started it because too many great companies disappear the moment the founder steps away," Jorge said.
Some terms were the same for all five founding partners. "Each brand keeps its name, leadership, and local pride," the announcement says, and all employees remain with their own companies. What Legacy Lawns adds sits behind the brands: employee benefits, continuing education, technology, marketing, finance and agronomic support.
The former owner's role is the part that varies. Whether a former owner stays on is decided case by case, the National Association of Landscape Professionals reported, since some want to keep leading and others want a succession plan. "We don't approach owners with a box and ask them to step inside it when it comes to structuring a partnership," Jorge said. "When you bring companies together under one umbrella, culture matters just as much as numbers." Berg put his own deal this way: "This partnership wasn't about selling a business. It was about protecting the people who helped build it." Owners comparing this model with a conventional sale can read our guide to selling a landscaping business to private equity.
Two of the platform's five founding brands are North Texas operators, Perm-O-Green in Wichita Falls and Purple Care in Fort Worth, and the Southwest region is led by the founder who brought Purple Care in. Both companies serve Fort Worth, and the platform kept both names in that market rather than folding one into the other. For Texas lawn care owners, that is a Plexus-backed buyer already operating in the state that kept the brand and the staff at every founding partner, while the former owner's own role is set deal by deal.
