Qualitiscape Services Receives Strategic Investment from Visterra

What happened

On July 22, 2026, Visterra Landscape Group announced a strategic investment in Qualitiscape Services, Inc., a Fort Worth, Texas-based provider of commercial landscape services. Visterra described the deal as a partnership that expands its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and its commercial service delivery across North Texas. Qualitiscape will continue to operate under its existing brand. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The company

Russell Smith founded Qualitiscape in 1983 and was its president at the announcement. A finance graduate of Texas Christian University, Smith has spent more than 40 years in the landscape business and is a licensed irrigator. The company serves hundreds of properties every week, commercial and residential, from its base in Fort Worth, and its commercial work covers real estate properties across a range of verticals.

The work is grounds maintenance at the core: mowing, fertilization and weed control, and shrub and bed care. Irrigation is the second leg, from new systems and repairs to drainage fixes, alongside landscape design and renovation, stone work, and tree service.

The buyer

Visterra is the commercial landscaping platform of Trinity Hunt Partners, a growth-oriented private equity firm focused on services businesses. Its first partnership, Riverside Services, came in December 2022, and Alan T. Handley has led it as CEO since 2023. Visterra ranks itself as North America's ninth-largest commercial landscape service provider and operates across 16 states, offering maintenance, enhancement, construction and installation, sweeping and portering, and snow and ice management. Incumbent partner leaders run day-to-day operations.

Qualitiscape is Visterra's 15th strategic partnership since inception and its third completed investment of 2026, following Clover Landscape Group in Huntsville, Alabama, in May. It is not Visterra's first Dallas-Fort Worth business: Dyna-Mist, a Wylie-based contractor founded in 1990, joined in 2023, and Trinity Hunt said at the time that it would serve as an anchor for a broader Texas presence.

Handley said Visterra would support Qualitiscape's next phase "while preserving local talent, trusted client relationships, commitment to service excellence, and a dynamic entrepreneurial culture."

How Visterra has filled in Texas

Since Dyna-Mist, Visterra has announced partners in Houston in November 2025 and the Austin-San Antonio corridor in January 2026, then Qualitiscape in Fort Worth. Five weeks later, on August 25, it announced a strategic investment in Dallas-based Richmond & Associates Landscaping, founded by Jimmy Richmond more than 30 years ago, which adds three branches across the DFW Metroplex and Houston. What this means for commercial landscaping owners

Qualitiscape did not bring Visterra into Dallas-Fort Worth; it joined in a metro the platform already served, and another Dallas-based partner followed within weeks. A founder-led Fort Worth company of more than four decades kept its own name alongside other Visterra partners in the same market, which gives an owner a concrete comparable for what joining an in-market platform looks like, as opposed to anchoring a new one.
