Visterra Landscape Group announced a strategic investment in Richmond & Associates Landscaping, a Dallas-based commercial landscape company, on August 25, 2026. Visterra's release calls the deal a strategic partnership, and says it brings three branches across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Houston and new regional leadership. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Jimmy Richmond founded Richmond & Associates more than 30 years ago. The company does commercial landscape maintenance, enhancement, installation and irrigation for multifamily, HOA, municipal, industrial and commercial clients across the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metros, from branches in Carrollton, Fort Worth and Houston. Its crews include licensed chemical applicators and irrigators and landscapers certified through the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association. The company is a member of the apartment associations of Greater Dallas, Tarrant County and Houston, the Texas Apartment Association and the Community Associations Institute. Landscape Management ranked it No. 117 on its LM150 list of the largest landscape companies in 2016 and No. 127 in 2017.
Richmond, CFO Chaun Sherman, Director of Maintenance Jose Acosta and the rest of the team are staying with the business, and they move into expanded roles across Visterra's South region. "When we considered what came next, our priority was finding a partner who would protect and accelerate what we built," Richmond said.
Visterra is the commercial landscaping platform of Trinity Hunt Partners, a Dallas private equity firm focused on services businesses. Visterra is based in Rosemont, Illinois, and operates across 16 states. It provides maintenance, enhancement, construction and installation, sweeping and portering, and snow and ice management. Alan T. Handley became chief executive in 2023. He came from LRS, a waste and recycling business that he led through more than 50 acquisitions in six years as chairman, president and CEO.
Richmond & Associates is Visterra's 16th strategic partnership since the platform was founded in 2022, and its fourth completed investment of 2026. Handley said Richmond fits the companies Visterra seeks to partner with, "those defined by entrepreneurial leadership, a best-in-class culture of operational excellence and safety, premier customer relationships earned through decades of exceptional service." He added that "Texas remains one of the most dynamic commercial landscaping geographies in the country." Visterra says the deal makes it a leader in every major metropolitan area in Texas.
Richmond is not Visterra's first Texas partner. In August 2023, Trinity Hunt announced that Dyna-Mist had joined the platform. Dyna-Mist is a Dallas-Fort Worth maintenance and enhancement company founded in 1990, and Trinity Hunt's announcement said it "will serve as an anchor for the platform to build a broader presence in the Texas market." In November 2025, Visterra partnered with Texas Landscape Group, a Houston HOA and commercial specialist founded in 2013 with four branches across the Houston area. Handley said at the time that the deal "more than doubles our presence in Texas." Texas Landscape Group was Visterra's 11th partnership, which makes Richmond the fifth since then, in under ten months. Visterra already had a partner company in both of Richmond's metros, and it still made this investment. Richmond's founder, CFO, and maintenance director all take roles across the South region, and the release names the new regional leadership alongside the three branches as what the investment adds. The management team was part of what this buyer announced it was getting.
