HighGrove Partners, an Atlanta-based commercial landscaping company, announced on April 8, 2026, that it had acquired Synergy Landscapes of Tampa, Florida. HighGrove is backed by Agellus Capital, a private equity firm based in Clayton, Missouri, that invests in essential services businesses. The deal took HighGrove's commercial landscaping services into Florida for the first time. The announcement did not include a price or other financial terms.
David Kravetz founded Synergy in 2005. The company provides landscape maintenance and enhancement, arbor care and irrigation to a diverse set of commercial customers across Tampa Bay and Central Florida.
Kravetz said the deal leaves Synergy "positioned for continued growth across Florida," adding, "We're excited about what lies ahead for our clients and our people." The announcement did not say whether the Synergy name will continue or what role Kravetz holds after closing.
HighGrove was founded in 1989 as Post Landscape Group and is led by chief executive Jim McCutcheon and chief financial officer Erin McCutcheon. It provides commercial landscape maintenance, design-build, water management and tree care to office, retail, industrial, institutional, and multifamily properties around Atlanta.
Agellus acquired HighGrove in November 2025, when the company operated from four locations across metro Atlanta. At the time, Agellus co-founder and managing partner Jeff Aiello called HighGrove "a solid foundation on which to build our landscaping services platform." Synergy followed less than five months later. HighGrove is one of four current Agellus investments, alongside platforms in fire and life safety, managed IT services, and commercial restoration.
McCutcheon called the Synergy deal "an exciting opportunity to expand our service offering into Florida." Aiello said, "The cultural alignment between Synergy and HighGrove made this a natural partnership."
Two more Florida deals have followed. On May 19, HighGrove announced the acquisition of Lawn Enforcement Agency, founded by Mike Troiano in 1994, which serves North and Central Florida from Gainesville, Bunnell and Ocala. McCutcheon said then, "we view Florida as a critical market." On August 25, it announced O&A Landscaping in the Greater Orlando area, founded by Carl Osborn and Rob Allis in 2006.
The three companies look alike. Each offers landscape maintenance, enhancements and irrigation, and Synergy and O&A also do arbor care. Each announcement quotes the founders on the deal, and none of the three included a price. In the four and a half months from the Tampa deal to the Orlando one, HighGrove went from a metro Atlanta company to one with operations in Tampa Bay, the Gainesville and Ocala area, and Greater Orlando. For a commercial maintenance owner in Florida, that changes who is across the table: Synergy sold to a buyer with no Florida operation, while a company selling to HighGrove today would join one that already includes Synergy, Lawn Enforcement Agency and O&A.
