Sila Services, LLC and NEOH

What happened

Sila Services announced on January 13, 2026, that it had acquired NEOH, an Ohio home services group of five operating companies: Simpson Heating & Air, Bonsky Heating & Cooling, Best Heating & Air Solutions, Ultra Clean Duct Cleaning, and Coblentz Plumbing Solutions. The acquisition also included Trade Masters Academy, which Chad Simpson described as "best-in-class." Financial terms were not disclosed.

The seller

HVAC industry veterans Chad Simpson and Steve VanHorn founded and led the NEOH group of companies, growing it over more than 15 years. Its best-known piece is Simpson Heating & Air, the original Simpson family company in the Tuscarawas Valley. Over the years the family bought other HVAC businesses that kept their own names, and in 2021 Chad Simpson merged his four companies, Simpson Heating & Air, Sugarcreek Heating & Air, A&L Heating and Cooling, and Peterman Heating and Cooling, into a single brand, Simpson Salute Heating & Air.

Simpson Salute is based in New Philadelphia and serves towns from Dover to Sugarcreek and across Northeast Ohio. Its work is heating and cooling for homeowners, from furnaces and heat pumps to geothermal systems and boilers, plus duct work backed by its own sheet metal fabrication and a Comfort Club maintenance membership. It has more than 70 employees, with an average tenure of nine years.

Bonsky Heating & Cooling, another of the five, is a Uniontown company that dates to 1927. It is a Lennox Premier Dealer and also runs its own sheet metal shop.

"Joining Sila Services allows us to take what we've built and expand it, adding resources, training, and new services while staying true to the values that define our companies," Chad Simpson said in the announcement.

The buyer

Sila Services operates more than 40 brands across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest, offering HVAC, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, indoor air quality, and home performance services. In November 2024, Goldman Sachs Alternatives' private equity business agreed to buy a majority stake in Sila from Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, with Sila's management set to keep leading the company and retain a significant minority stake. Sila operated more than 30 brands at that point.

Sila's Ohio region dates to April 2023, when it acquired Jackson Comfort Services, which it described as Northeast Ohio's leading provider of heating, cooling, and plumbing services. Its Ohio deals since include A to Z Dependable Services, a plumbing and HVAC company in Niles founded in 1960, in 2024. Sila's release says NEOH's brands join its "market-leading Ohio footprint."

"This acquisition aligns with Sila's mission to provide exceptional home services to the communities we serve, while also investing in and expanding career opportunities across our trades," said Jason Rabbino, Sila's chief executive. He added that "Chad, Steve and their team have built something special in Ohio."

What this means for HVAC owners

Sila bought a group, not a single company. Simpson Salute was already one owner's merger of four HVAC names, and NEOH put it beside a contractor dating to 1927, duct cleaning, plumbing, and an academy under the same two founders. A platform that has bought single Ohio contractors such as A to Z took all of it in one transaction. For an owner who has spent years buying up neighbors, this deal shows the assembled group can be sold whole to a national sponsor-backed buyer; our guide on selling an HVAC business to private equity covers that path.

The academy is the detail to notice. The release listed it beside the five operating companies, and both men's quotes came back to training, with Rabbino saying the partnership would let Sila "invest in training." For a Northeast Ohio contractor, that puts a technician pipeline among the things this buyer named when it bought, next to the brands and the territory.
