Service Country, an Atlanta-based platform of residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical companies, announced on September 28, 2026, that it had partnered with Springfield Heating and Air of Madison, Mississippi. Springfield was one of five companies named in the same announcement, alongside partners in Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, and Oklahoma. The announcement describes the deal as a partnership and does not say what changed hands. It gave no financial terms.
Morgan Springfield founded Springfield Heating and Air in Madison in 2007. He came to Madison from Greenwood, Mississippi, where he grew up working in the HVAC industry. The company also does business as Springfield Heating, Air and Plumbing.
The company is a Trane dealer serving residential and light-commercial customers in the Madison and Jackson markets and surrounding Central Mississippi communities. Its work covers heating and air conditioning repair, installation, and maintenance, along with indoor air quality, duct cleaning, and plumbing, and it offers 24/7 emergency service.
"Service Country was the right fit for us because they understand that what makes a local home services company successful is its people, its customers and the reputation it has built in the community," Morgan Springfield said. He added that Service Country "gives us additional resources to continue growing while preserving what has made our company successful."
According to the announcement, each of the five companies will keep operating under its existing brand and local leadership, with support from Service Country in marketing, operations, training, and technology.
Service Country partners with home services businesses in smaller cities and towns across the Southeast. Its primary owner is Grove Mountain Partners, an Atlanta private equity firm, alongside the platform's operator partners. Grove Mountain dates its investment in Service Country to December 2023. John B. Koch, a partner at Grove Mountain, is Service Country's chairman, and George Easley is its chief executive.
The platform's first company was McGee Heating & Air in South Carolina. Service Country added three companies in West Virginia, South Carolina, and Alabama in September 2024, when Koch said it had grown to five companies in eight months. The leaders of those three companies stayed on and reinvested equity in the platform. The 2026 announcement does not say whether Springfield's owner did the same. Service Country now counts at least 12 partner brands.
"These five companies are a great representation of the type of businesses we want to partner with at Service Country," Easley said.
Before Service Country, Grove Mountain built Unique Indoor Comfort. Beginning in June 2021, the firm brought together 12 independent HVAC, plumbing, and electrical companies under that name, starting with Moncrief Heating & Air, Unique Indoor Comfort of Philadelphia, and Werley Heating & Air. In May 2023, Grove Mountain announced the sale of Unique Indoor Comfort to Ace Hardware. Grove Mountain said all owners had remained presidents of their companies, calling that "a hallmark of the Grove Mountain acquisition and management strategy." It said chief executive Nate Kukla and the management team, including the brand presidents, would continue to lead the company. For an owner being offered a partnership, keeping the brand and the president's title is a promise about how the business runs, not about who owns it next. Grove Mountain's record shows an owner can keep both while the business changes hands again.
