Arrive Logistics, a truckload brokerage based in Austin, Texas, announced on August 27, 2026, that it had signed a definitive agreement for Mubadala Capital to acquire a majority equity interest in the company. Mubadala Capital is the global alternative asset management arm of Mubadala Investment Company.
ATL Partners, Lead Edge Capital, and other existing investors will retain meaningful stakes, and Arrive's management team is rolling significant equity into the transaction. CEO Matt Pyatt told FreightWaves the transaction is 100% equity, with no debt used to finance it, and that the 10-month process was designed to rationalize the company's investor base, giving existing backers the option to reinvest or exit.
J.P. Morgan Securities is financial advisor to Mubadala Capital, with Sidley Austin as its legal counsel; Holland & Knight is legal counsel to Arrive. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Matt Pyatt, now CEO, and Eric Dunigan, now president, co-founded Arrive in Austin in 2014, and it has grown into one of North America's largest truckload brokerages. It moves freight across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico for more than 5,500 customers, including Fortune 500 brands, through a network of more than 10,000 core carriers, and operates from 10 locations. Transport Topics ranks it No. 7 among freight brokerages and No. 26 on its list of the 100 largest logistics companies in North America, and reports that it employs more than 2,000 people and handles more than 8,000 loads a day.
The company runs its own transportation management system, ARRIVEnow, which automates workflows across the freight lifecycle, and a cold-chain division, Arrive Fresh. Shippers have given it more than 50 service recognition awards since 2023.
Outside capital is not new to Arrive. Lead Edge Capital invested in 2018, and ATL Partners and its co-investors followed in 2021, according to FreightWaves. Pyatt described the new money to FreightWaves plainly: "We're basically just reloading the gun, so to speak, and allowing us to continue to invest in our business." In Logistics Management's coverage, he said Arrive "will hire 1,000 new team members in 2026."
Mubadala Capital, established in 2011, is an independent subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, which Transport Topics describes as a sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi's government. Its wholly owned businesses include private equity, credit, and special opportunities, and its portfolio includes Canada Cartage, which Transport Topics ranks No. 42 among for-hire carriers.
According to the announcement, the investment "is expected to allow Arrive to accelerate growth across three fronts: expanded service offerings, talent acquisition, and technology innovation." Sam Merksamer, a partner at Mubadala Capital, said Arrive "has continuously grown load volume and market share through multiple freight cycles," adding: "That kind of consistent execution is rare and it reflects the quality of the business Matt Pyatt and Eric Dunigan have built."
This deal changes who controls Arrive without requiring the investors who backed it or the managers who run it to leave. For a brokerage owner, that shows a change of control need not be a clean exit: rollover equity sits at the center of this deal, not at its edges. The new majority owner is also not another brokerage but a sovereign-backed asset manager, which puts capital from well outside freight among the buyers for a brokerage at this scale.
