Fura Acquires High Rise Logistics, Its Seventh Freight Brokerage Deal

The Cincinnati-based, AI-driven broker adds a Vancouver, Washington flatbed and truckload brokerage formed in 2021, its third deal since March. Terms were not disclosed.

Announced: August 11, 2026 · Founded 2021 · Fura's 7th acquisition · 3rd Fura deal since March 2026

Fura and High Rise Logistics

What happened

Fura, a Cincinnati-based freight broker that runs on its own AI software, acquired High Rise Logistics, a freight brokerage in Vancouver, Washington. FreightWaves reported the deal on August 11, 2026. High Rise's leadership keeps operational control of the business and gains access to Fura's platform for automated bidding, carrier sales and shipment visibility. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

The seller

High Rise Logistics was formed as a limited liability company in January 2021 and received its federal broker authority that March. Before the deal it was co-owned by Denis Russu and David Davidyan, and Russu is one of its co-founders. The company arranges flatbed, expedited, full truckload and less-than-truckload freight, with intermodal, drayage, local delivery and warehousing alongside, and it has a large presence in the Pacific Northwest. It books through a network of more than 5,000 carriers, offers 24/7 customer support, and has run its operations on Alvys, a commercial transportation management system.

Russu said of the sale: "The logistics world is transforming fast, and we wanted to be able to compete with anyone. Fura makes that possible — it puts powerful technology in our people's hands, transforms the customer experience, and lets us scale without the burden of having to innovate on our own."

The buyer

Fura moves each brokerage it buys onto one shared automation platform instead of running the acquired businesses with their own overhead. Its tools cover real-time shipment visibility, automated rate responses and AI agents that handle bookings and quotes, and nearly 40% of the carriers it books now come through AI agents working by email, text and phone. Fura reports more than 550 customers and more than 16,000 carriers on its platform.

High Rise is Fura's seventh acquisition and its third since March, after Barton Logistics, a Bandera, Texas broker founded in 1997, and LG Logistics Solutions in June. Co-founder and CEO Jeff Dangelo said of the deal: "What we're doing has never been done in logistics — we're buying great businesses and transforming them at a speed this industry has never seen."

What Fura's recent deals kept in place

High Rise is the second Fura deal in a row announced with the seller's own people still running the business. When Fura bought LG Logistics Solutions in June, founder Luis Guardiola and his staff stayed on to run day-to-day operations. Fura's published criteria ask for five or more years in business, a mark High Rise had only just passed. Dangelo puts integration at "about a week to onboard the new businesses," which he says is possible "because the technology does a lot of the work." Fura says it usually closes deals in 30 days, with a two-to-three-week diligence period after a letter of intent. What this means for freight brokerage owners

High Rise came to Fura about five years after it was formed, running on a commercial TMS, and joins a buyer whose model keeps the operators and moves every acquisition onto one shared platform. For a freight brokerage owner talking to a platform, the point to settle early is which decisions the founders keep once the business runs on the buyer's systems.
