Kelso Industries and Randall Construction

What happened

Kelso Industries has acquired Randall Construction, a self-performing multi-trade contractor based in Apopka, Florida, outside Orlando. Randall's founder, Jeff Condello, will remain president of the company. Randall Construction keeps its name as one of Kelso's Florida operating companies, at its Clarcona Road site in Apopka. Law firm Honigman advised Kelso on the acquisition. Kelso has not disclosed integration plans or any changes to Randall's workforce or facilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The seller

Jeff Condello founded Randall in 1986 as a plumbing business. The company now self-performs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural metals work for commercial and industrial construction across the Southeast. Its project work includes themed entertainment, mission-critical, space, and defense facilities.

Randall employs approximately 400 people. It runs a 100,000-square-foot prefabrication facility in Apopka and keeps its Building Information Modeling (BIM) team in house. It also offers design-phase integration of its trades into a single package for a project.

The buyer

Kelso Industries is a commercial building services platform headquartered in Draper, Utah. It provides HVAC, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, controls, and energy services across the United States. Kelso was founded in 2021 through Peterson Partners' partnership with co-founders Steve Carroll and Steve Nicholson.

In September 2026, Peterson Partners closed a $510 million continuation vehicle holding Kelso. NorthSands Capital, a New York investment firm, was the sole lead investor and committed more than $450 million. At the time, Kelso had more than 4,000 employees in more than 40 states. The Randall acquisition followed that transaction.

Kelso reported 31 completed acquisitions as of October 2025. Its earlier additions include Gaddy Electric & Plumbing in Demopolis, Alabama.

Where Randall sits in Kelso's Florida footprint

Randall joins a group of Kelso companies in Florida. They include APG in Clearwater and Lakeland, DHR Mechanical in Hudson, and Premier Electric in Naples, along with Kelso Building Services offices in Tampa and Miami. Randall's Apopka site is the nearest of them to Orlando. Owners weighing a platform like this can read our guide on selling an HVAC or mechanical business to private equity.

What this means for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing owners

For an owner who self-performs several trades, the buyer pool is not limited to platforms with no presence nearby. A platform already running companies elsewhere in the state still added a contractor that does all of its trades itself. It shows that the integrated, self-performed package carries value of its own to a buyer like this.
