Goldman Sachs-Backed Sila Buys Coblentz Plumbing Solutions in NEOH Deal

What happened

Sila Services announced on January 13, 2026 that it had acquired NEOH, a group of Ohio home services companies whose five operating businesses include Coblentz Plumbing Solutions. The other four are Simpson Heating & Air, Bonsky Heating & Cooling, Best Heating & Air Solutions and Ultra Clean Duct Cleaning, and the group also runs a training arm, Trade Masters Academy. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The seller

Wendell Coblentz founded Coblentz Plumbing in Hartville, Ohio, in January 1996. The company does residential and commercial plumbing with round-the-clock emergency service, from water heaters, drains and sewer lines to water filtration and softening, well pumps and backflow prevention. It serves Hartville and communities within 25 miles, including Akron, Canton, North Canton, Green, Kent and Massillon, and its current address is in nearby Uniontown.

Coblentz is the one plumbing company among NEOH's five; the other four are heating, cooling and duct-cleaning businesses. NEOH was founded and is led by Chad Simpson and Steve VanHorn, whom Sila describes as HVAC industry veterans, and was built over more than 15 years. The release does not say when Coblentz became part of the group.

"From the beginning, our focus has been on building great teams and serving customers the right way," said Simpson, founder of Simpson Heating & Air. "Joining Sila Services allows us to take what we've built and expand it, adding resources, training, and new services while staying true to the values that define our companies."

The buyer

Sila Services is headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and operates more than 40 brands across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, offering HVAC, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, indoor air quality and home performance services. In November 2024, the private equity business at Goldman Sachs Alternatives agreed to acquire a majority stake in Sila from affiliates of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, which had invested in 2021. Goldman said at the time that Sila's management would continue to lead the company and retain a significant minority stake.

"Chad, Steve and their team have built something special in Ohio by growing thoughtfully, putting people first in all their decisions, and expanding their range of services to benefit customers," said Jason Rabbino, Sila's chief executive. "This partnership will allow us to accelerate growth, invest in training, and create even more opportunities for trades professionals across the region." Sila called the deal another step in its strategy "to grow strong regional platforms that combine local leadership with national support."

Where NEOH fits in Sila's Ohio buying

Sila launched its Ohio region with Jackson Comfort Services, announced in April 2023, which it described as Northeast Ohio's leading provider of heating, cooling and plumbing services and which traces its start to a Cleveland garage in the mid-1920s. Its Ohio announcements since include two heating and cooling companies, in Cleveland and Cortland, and in September 2024 A to Z Dependable Services of Niles, a plumbing and HVAC provider established in 1960. Each of those announcements added a single Ohio company; NEOH brought five in one transaction.

What this means for plumbing owners

Coblentz reached a Goldman Sachs-owned national platform as the plumbing piece of a locally built group rather than as a target of its own. Sila already had plumbing work in Ohio through its earlier deals, so Coblentz was not the platform's first plumber in the state; it arrived inside a group led by HVAC operators. The release counts Trade Masters Academy among what Sila acquired, and both executives' quotes turned on training and careers, so the group's training bench traveled with its plumbing and HVAC shops. The route Coblentz took to a national owner ran through the group.
