East Range Group Receives Strategic Investment from Norwest

What happened

East Range Group (ERG), a Boston-based family of regional high-purity water systems and service companies, announced a strategic partnership with Norwest on June 24, 2026. Norwest is providing long-term capital, resources and strategic support for ERG to keep investing in its people, customers, capabilities and new growth opportunities. The release did not disclose the amount invested or the size of Norwest's stake.

The company

ERG designs, builds, installs and maintains high-purity water systems for mission-critical applications, then supports them with scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency service, validation, and deionization (DI) exchange and regeneration from its own facilities. Its customers are in pharmaceuticals and life sciences, hospitals and healthcare, semiconductors and electronics, food and beverage, and specialty manufacturing.

The group runs five companies, each under its own name. Pure Flow of Peterborough, New Hampshire, founded in 1982, is the oldest, and its customers include MilliporeSigma, MACOM Technology Solutions and Chroma Technology. Atlas High Purity Water is based in Canton, Massachusetts. Filter & Water Technologies, founded in 2011, and H2O Solutions, founded in 1985, are in Montgomeryville and Telford, Pennsylvania. High Purity Water Services, based in Oakville, Ontario, serves customers across Canada.

Michael Donovan and Tyler Hogan lead ERG as co-CEOs. ERG describes its approach as keeping the existing staff, brand and service-centric regional focus of its companies intact. "At ERG, our shared purpose has been to build a phenomenal place to work," Donovan said.

The buyer

Norwest is a global venture capital and growth equity firm managing more than $15.5 billion. It has invested in more than 700 companies since inception and invests from early to late stage, mainly in enterprise, healthcare and consumer businesses. It has offices in Menlo Park and San Francisco, Mumbai and Tel Aviv. Norwest's team pages list ERG among the active investments of Jon Kossow and Ken Graham.

Connor Pike, a principal at Norwest, said ERG "has built something that's difficult to replicate: a team with deep technical expertise, an exceptional service culture, and a model that works at the local level and at scale." Hogan said the partnership "enables ERG to invest further in our people and capabilities, while continuing to deliver the quality, responsiveness, and technical expertise our customers depend on."

Three companies now operate under their own names, which is the model ERG says it follows. Norwest has now put capital behind that model, from a firm whose investments run mainly to enterprise, healthcare, and consumer businesses rather than industrial services.
