Exterior Solutions Group Joins Roof Restoration Group as First Partner

What happened

Exterior Solutions Group (ESG), a commercial roofing contractor headquartered in Edmond, Oklahoma, has joined Roof Restoration Group (RRG), a platform backed by private equity firm Banner Capital. Banner Capital announced the launch of RRG and the partnership together on October 19, 2026, naming ESG as the platform's first partner. Founder Kyle Crawford will continue to lead the ESG business, has joined the RRG board of directors, and has reinvested alongside Banner Capital and RRG executives. The announcement describes the deal as a partnership and does not say what stake changed hands. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The company

ESG provides roof replacement, restoration, and facility maintenance to K-12 public school districts, colleges, and commercial property owners, along with maintenance plans, hail and storm response, and residential roofing. The company moved its headquarters to Edmond in May 2019, when it also ran offices in Parker, Colorado, and Ames, Iowa. It now operates from offices in Edmond and Tulsa.

Kyle Crawford is a fourth-generation roofer. He started on the crew at his father's company in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and worked his way up to ownership. His project work includes the roof of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. McKay Potter, a principal at Banner Capital, said Crawford "has built ESG into one of the most respected roofing contractors serving Oklahoma schools."

The partner

RRG is a commercial roofing and essential building services platform headquartered in the Southwest, held in Banner Capital's Fund II. It gives partners capital along with shared finance, procurement, safety, and national sales infrastructure. Partners keep their teams, brands, and customer relationships. The announcement calls ESG "the first of what RRG expects to be a series of partnerships with founder-led commercial roofing contractors."

"Commercial roofing is an essential, non-discretionary service, and building owners – especially public schools – need partners they can trust to protect their facilities," said Potter, who also sits on the RRG board.

Banner Capital is a lower-middle-market private equity firm with offices in Utah and Arizona. It invests in founder-led and family-owned commercial and essential services companies in the Western United States, typically with $4 million to $15 million in EBITDA, and reported $611 million in assets under management as of June 30, 2026. Its other services holdings include Western Pavement Services, an asphalt maintenance platform, and American Property Care, a Southwest property services business.
