Announced: June 10, 2026 · Founded 2011 · Ridgeline's 6th acquisition · Serves Nebraska and Iowa

Ridgeline Roofing & Restoration and Fremont Roofing Co.

What happened

Ridgeline Roofing & Restoration, a Birmingham, Alabama, roofing company backed by private equity firm Bertram Capital, acquired Fremont Roofing Co. of Fremont, Nebraska, in a deal announced June 10, 2026. The transaction is Ridgeline's sixth acquisition. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The seller

JB Harris founded Fremont Roofing in 2011 and owned it privately. The company is a general contractor licensed in Nebraska and Iowa, serving the Omaha and Council Bluffs metro area, Fremont and Columbus, and rural communities across the region.

It specializes in remodeling and storm damage repair: steep-slope, flat, and metal roofs, roof coatings, siding, gutters, and gutter guards, for residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. Each customer works with one project manager from the first inspection to a quality-control walk at the end of the job, and a production manager is on site the day the work is done.

"We built Fremont Roofing on quality work and honest service," Harris said in the announcement. "I'm proud of what this team has accomplished, and I believe Ridgeline will enable our future growth while maintaining the level of customer service our community has come to expect."

The buyer

Chris Baldus and Scott Bullard founded Ridgeline, which focuses on residential re-roofing and restoration and has offices in Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama; Nashville, Tennessee; Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia; and Melbourne, Florida. Bertram, a Foster City, California, firm that has raised more than $4.0 billion in capital commitments since 2006, invested in January 2024. Bertram partner Tom Beerle has described the firm's aim as to "accelerate growth across the Southeast and replicate Ridgeline's formula in new markets."

Four of Ridgeline's five earlier acquisitions were in North Carolina, Mississippi, and the St. Louis area. The fifth, in January 2026, was Bold North Roofing and Contracting, a Twin Cities roofing, siding, and window contractor. None was in Nebraska or Iowa. Ridgeline presents four of those earlier add-ons, Bold North among them, as partner brands operating under their original names.

"Fremont Roofing is exactly the kind of partner we look for: a proven operator with deep roots in the community and a loyal customer base," said Baldus, Ridgeline's chief executive. Zach Bassi, a vice president at Bertram, said: "Expanding Ridgeline's roofing and restoration footprint regionally through thoughtful M&A has been one of our goals."

Ridgeline's Midwest deals after Fremont

Fremont was the second of four Midwest acquisitions Ridgeline announced between January and September 2026, after Bold North. Later in June it announced its seventh, Freedom Roofing & Construction, which Kurt Kiser founded in 2014 and which serves the Champaign, Illinois, area. In September it announced its eighth, Advantage Roofing & Exteriors, founded by Tim Brown in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in 1998. Both, like Fremont and Bold North, sell siding and gutters or other exterior work alongside roofing. What this means for roofing owners

A platform whose sponsor described its home ground as the Southeast bought a founder-owned Nebraska contractor that does agricultural roofing as well as homes, then added two more founder-built Midwest contractors by the end of September. An owner of a roofing-and-exteriors business in the region is now looking at a buyer whose 2026 deals were all businesses built the way theirs is. The four earlier add-ons still presented under their own names are the references that owner can check before a first meeting.
