What happened

Guaranteed Roof, a residential and commercial roofing contractor based in Alpharetta, Georgia, announced a strategic partnership with Lance Bachmann and LB Capital on Sept. 17, 2026, joining LB Capital's EM Exteriors platform. The release says the partnership supports growth beyond the company's core Georgia footprint into Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina, and Roofing Contractor reports that Guaranteed Roof will keep its brand. No purchase price or investment amount was disclosed.

The company

Matt Weeks and Chase Howe founded Guaranteed Roof in Alpharetta in 2022, and Weeks is its CEO. Weeks came to roofing from real estate, where he watched deals fall apart over aging roofs, and the company was built around Roof Maxx, a soy-based shingle rejuvenation treatment. Roofing Contractor has called it one of the top Roof Maxx dealers in the country. The business sells rejuvenation and cleaning as alternatives to tear-off, alongside commercial coatings, structural repairs and GAF-certified replacement. It announced a formal expansion into North Carolina in October 2025 and now serves Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Bachmann describes the structure as something other than a sale. He told Roofing Contractor that LB Capital owns a 50% interest in each company on the platform, while the contractors keep equity tied to their own businesses, and that their eventual return depends in part on how their division performs when the combined organization exits. "They're shareholders rather than sellers," he said. Weeks said in the release that partnering with Bachmann and LB Capital "gives us the support to build on that foundation."

The buyer

LB Capital was founded by Bachmann, who has built, scaled and sold six companies. It formally launched EM Exteriors on Sept. 1 with 15 roofing companies across 13 states and no platform debt, according to the company. Coverage of the launch in Construction Owners named Planet Roof and Roofing Pups among the businesses on the platform. Partner companies keep their local names, teams and leadership while using centralized accounting, marketing, procurement and technology, including ServiceTitan and Hatch AI.

How EM Exteriors structures its partnerships

The brands stay local; the decisions do not. Bachmann said LB Capital holds authority over hiring, pricing and growth decisions, working alongside local leadership, so that what could eventually be more than 20 operating divisions run consistently. He was blunt about who does not fit: an owner who "doesn't want to be part of a team, can't follow direction" or "doesn't understand the platform is more important than themselves."

The exit is collective. The stated objective is a sale of the combined platform to private equity, not separate sales of each contractor, and Bachmann ties the model to scale: "when you have arbitrage, your organization is worth a lot more than just one." Construction Owners described the model as different from a conventional deal in which an acquirer buys a single roofing company and integrates it into an existing platform. Owners comparing the two paths can start with our guide to selling a roofing business to private equity.

What this means for roofing owners

Weeks and Howe now share pricing and hiring decisions with a partner holding half the business, and the payoff on the equity they kept depends in part on their own division's results and on a platform sale whose valuation, as Roofing Contractor notes, is not guaranteed. That makes this a different decision from selling a roofing company outright. An owner offered a partnership like this has two questions to price alongside any number: how much control he keeps after signing, and when his remaining equity turns into cash.
