Soundcore Capital Partners, a New York private equity firm, announced a majority investment in Ridge Top Exteriors on June 10, 2025, and launched TrussPoint Roofing & Exterior Renovations the same day with Ridge Top as the new platform's initial investment. Ridge Top is a residential roofing and exterior remodeling company headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. Soundcore named Chad Colony chief executive of TrussPoint in conjunction with the deal. Akerman, the law firm that represented Soundcore on the investment and the launch, describes TrussPoint as Soundcore's 13th platform investment. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Ridge Top, founded by Larry Gebhart, installs and repairs roofing, siding, windows and doors, gutters, and solar systems for homeowners, and takes on some commercial roofing, siding, and window work. Soundcore described its core business as retail rather than insurance work, with enough brand awareness in its markets to also win storm-related insurance jobs.
At the announcement, Gebhart said Ridge Top had grown to seven locations across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida. Colony said the company had expanded through both acquisitions and greenfield openings. Today the company runs offices in Madison, Milwaukee, Appleton, and Wisconsin Rapids in Wisconsin, in Gurnee, Illinois, and in Clearwater, Florida. Since joining TrussPoint it has also opened two Iowa offices, in Urbandale for the Des Moines market and in Swisher for Cedar Rapids. "With TrussPoint's support, Ridge Top has been able to open two new locations in Iowa, bringing industry-leading service to markets we have not served before," the company said in May 2026.
Gebhart described the deal as "joining forces with TrussPoint" to "accelerate Ridge Top's growth and realize its full potential." The announcements do not say what role he holds today.
Soundcore was founded in 2015 by Jarrett Turner and makes buy-and-build, control equity investments, mostly in founder-owned businesses. Turner said the launch meant "entering the fragmented and growing residential home repair and replacement exterior services sector." Jonathan Tanenbaum, a Soundcore partner, leads the platform for the firm.
TrussPoint is the platform Soundcore created for residential roofing and exterior services. It describes its focus as "high-growth, retail-centered, vendor-managed, repair and maintenance roofing and exterior services companies," and Colony called Ridge Top "the ideal initial investment for TrussPoint."
In the eleven months after launch, TrussPoint announced three acquisitions: a Greater Boston roofer in August 2025, Eaton Roofing & Exteriors of Wichita, Kansas, in January 2026, and Runyon & Sons Roofing of Mentor, Ohio, in May 2026. Ridge Top is now one of four regional brands under the platform.
Soundcore built TrussPoint around Ridge Top instead of adding Ridge Top to something that already existed, and the company it picked as the foundation was a founder-led roofer with a retail core and its own record of opening and buying locations. The deals came in two forms. Soundcore made the majority investment in Ridge Top directly, on the day it created the platform; the three companies that followed were each announced as acquisitions by TrussPoint. For a multi-location roofer with a retail book, being a platform's first company and being its fourth are different transactions, and here they had different counterparties: the private equity firm itself, then the platform it built.
